The year 2019 sure hasn’t been an easy one for love: There have been a ton of major celebrity breakups this year. They kicked off almost as soon as the year began: On January 4, news reports came out that Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik were taking a break after reconciling in April 2019. “They could get back together, but it’s over for now,“ an insider told Us Weekly.
There was also a slew of splits in late April, when three married couples announced their separation within one week: Anna Camp and Skyler Astin, Michelle Williams and Phil Elverum, and Adele and Simon Konecki. Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk parted ways in early June, followed by a rumored breakup between Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin. Then, in August, news broke that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth were splitting after eight months of marriage.
